I use Sketchup since 2012. It was a very shy beginning since I was trained to work with AutoCad, but I bought an online lesson, about 16 hours training from beginner to advanced, and I exclusively work with Sketchup since 2013. I would never go back to AutoCad unless I would be paid for that. I work 3 times quicker with Sketchup, can do more for a lower price.
The few pictures below have been drawn with Sketchup from a 2D sketch, only few quotes and one big request from my customer which was to have a real view of the site with the terrain, the neighborhood, and a realistic rendering. The budget was for three days work.

With Sketchup, I can export any kind of 3D model that would work with quite any program. The screen below shows an interactive presentation. If you click on the icon to open the view full screen, then use the arrow right, you can set up your own stair with the colors and the options you want to try. This project has been designed with the Cl3ver platform, a very powerful tool for architectural presentations.
Use the wheel of the mouse to zoom in and out. Use the left button to move in the model. Use the right arrow to open the configuration tab. You can change the colors of the step, the structure and the cupboard. You can add accessories to the stair and see the stair in a contextual showroom.
